Yes. Using the medical alert system’s GPS and WiFi capabilities*, our highly-certified emergency operators can always send immediate help, whether you’re at home or on-the-go. Should you ever experience an emergency or a fall, alert our monitoring center with just the push of a button.

*Coverage is subject to environment, equipment condition, and portable device location.

Can I speak to an emergency operator through the wearable device?

Yes. This medical alert system with a speaker in the pendant enables you to speak with an operator directly through the device. If you are unable to speak with our operators, they will use the Belle+ Life Link’s GPS and WiFi capabilities to send help to your exact location.

Do I need to have WiFi in my home in order to use the Sport Lynk?

No. Thanks to the Sport Lynk's WiFi capabilities, our emergency operators can detect WiFi hotspots around you, enabling them to accurately pinpoint your location even faster in an emergency.

Are there any additional fees for the Sport Lynk using AT&T’s coverage service?

No. There are no additional fees for when the Belle+ Life Link  uses AT&T’s cellular network to connect you to our monitoring center. Plus, you don’t even need to use AT&T in order to have access to round-the-clock protection at home and on-the-go.

Can I wear the Sport Lynk with a pacemaker?

Yes. Review your pacemaker materials regarding interaction with cell phones, and take the same precautions with the materials recommend for the Sport Lynk.

How does the Sport Lynk’s fall alert technology work?

Helpful for those who want an extra layer of protection or are at risk of a heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, or diabetic shock, this medical alert system can come equipped with fall detection. This means it will automatically contact our monitoring center through a cellular network should you fall while you’re at home or on-the-go. Although the Belle+ Life Link does not automatically come with fall detection, the device’s fall alert capabilities can be activated for just $10/month, so you can enjoy the most comprehensive protection everywhere you go.

*Fall Detection does not detect 100% of falls. If Customer is able, Customer should press the help button in the event of an emergency. The 911 emergency services line is an alternative to the System and the Services. Fall Detection must be worn around the neck to allow for adequate detection of falls.

Can I wear the Sport Lynk in the shower?

Yes. Sport Lynk is highly water-resistant so you can contact our monitoring center from anywhere – even if you’re in the shower.

How long does the Sport Lynk’s battery life last before I have to charge it again?

Since the Sport Lynk has the longest battery life of any portable medical alert device, you won’t have to worry about charging your device for up to 30 days. Not only will you be notified by a flashing red light when the device’s battery is low, but the Sport Lynk becomes fully charged in just a few hours, so you can get back to doing what you love in no time.

What's the difference between 
Direct Link and 9-1-1?

Direct Link medical alert systems are not meant to replace 9-1-1. But, they do make connecting to emergency help simple and uncomplicated. In a true emergency, you may not have access to a phone or be able to clearly provide information to emergency responders.

Direct Link keeps your information on file and can quickly dispatch emergency services to your location. We're able to relay important information – like medications, your preferred hospital, or conditions that may interact negatively with EMT treatments – to emergency responders in the event you are unable to do so.

But Direct Link is more than just a dispatch service. Our medical alert systems monitor you or your loved ones with wireless connectivity, GPS tracking, and fall detection. In addition, we know that not every situation is an emergency, and sometimes you just need to speak with someone or connect quickly to your family or friends. Our non-emergency services provide you with that assistance 24/7.

 Does a cell phone replace the need 
for a medical alert device?

No, a cell phone does not replace the need for a medical alert device. You or a loved one may not have access to a cell phone at all times, cell phone batteries can die, and cell phones can lose calls or reception depending on your location.

Even simply dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency can be difficult because it may require putting in a passcode or getting facial recognition to work. In a real emergency, those precious seconds matter.

 When can I use Direct Link's non-emergency dispatch?

You can use Direct Link's non-Emergency dispatch services at any time. Simply press the button on your medical alert device and connect with our 24/7 monitoring center.

This is helpful if you or a loved one is not feeling well, gets stuck and need assistance, have flare ups of a medical condition, or if something is making you uneasy and you need someone to talk to.

Our trained call operators can quickly alert the family members, neighbors, or friends in your Care Circle so that you can quickly get the assistance you need in any situation.
