Can I speak to an operator through wearable medical alert button?

No: You can only speak to an operator through the portable device’s two-way speaker system. The wearable button enables you to call for help up to 350 ft. in every direction of the device. If you are unable to speak with our operators, our team would reach out to you through your primary phone number and then move to contact EMS if no contact is made.

Is outside phone service required for use?

No: Choice Lynk functions using the AT&T cellular network, which comes with your package when you choose Direct Link. You will never be charged any additional fees for the Choice Lynk using AT&T’s cellular network to contact our monitoring center. The best part is that you will still be protected at home and on-the-go even if you don’t use AT&T, or have an active phone.

Will I be protected both inside and outside of my home?

Yes: With our personal emergency response system’s GPS capabilities, you will always have access to instant help both inside and outside of your home. This lightweight mobile alert system also comes with a leather carrying case for even more convenient and discreet protection, no matter where you are.

Can I leave my house with just my neck pendant or wristband and still be protected?

No: Your neck or wrist button will not work on their own if you are outside of the range of your portable device. While you are at home, you can leave the portable medical alert device in its charging cradle and be covered in and around your home up to a range of 350 feet while wearing one of your wearable medical alert buttons. When you leave your home it is vital that you take your portable device with you, otherwise you will not be protected.

Is this device an all-in-one device?

No. The Mobile Care Life Link is a 2-piece medical alert system. It has a portable medical alert device with a two way speaker, cellular coverage and GPS location tracking capabilities. That device has a two way speaker, cellular coverage and GPS location tracking capabilities. Your system also includes a wearable alert button, a neck or wrist pendant for use up to 350 feet from the portable device. If you are interested in a wearable medical alert button without the need for a separate device, our all-in-one Choice Lynk may suit your needs.

How does the fall alert system work?

For an extra layer of protection, Choice Lynk can come with a water-proof fall alert pendant. This pendant will automatically send a wireless signal to the mobile base station should it detect a fall, and the base station will then contact our monitoring center through a cellular network. For just $10/month, your Choice Lynk can become a fall alert system, ensuring that you will always be able to receive help in an emergency even if you are unable to push your button.
*Fall Detection does not detect 100% of falls. If Customer is able, Customer should press the help button in the event of an emergency. The 911 emergency services line is an alternative to the System and the Services. Fall Detection should only be worn around the neck to allow for adequate detection of falls.

What's the difference between 
Direct Link and 9-1-1?

Direct Link medical alert systems are not meant to replace 9-1-1. But, they do make connecting to emergency help simple and uncomplicated. In a true emergency, you may not have access to a phone or be able to clearly provide information to emergency responders.

Direct Link keeps your information on file and can quickly dispatch emergency services to your location. We're able to relay important information – like medications, your preferred hospital, or conditions that may interact negatively with EMT treatments – to emergency responders in the event you are unable to do so.

But Direct Link is more than just a dispatch service. Our medical alert systems monitor you or your loved ones with wireless connectivity, GPS tracking, and fall detection. In addition, we know that not every situation is an emergency, and sometimes you just need to speak with someone or connect quickly to your family or friends. Our non-emergency services provide you with that assistance 24/7.

 Does a cell phone replace the need 
for a medical alert device?

No, a cell phone does not replace the need for a medical alert device. You or a loved one may not have access to a cell phone at all times, cell phone batteries can die, and cell phones can lose calls or reception depending on your location.

Even simply dialing 9-1-1 in an emergency can be difficult because it may require putting in a passcode or getting facial recognition to work. In a real emergency, those precious seconds matter.

We make connecting to our emergency monitoring center as easy as pressing a button on your wearable medical alert device. This button quickly connects to our monitoring center and works even if your cell phone doesn't have reception or battery life.

 When can I use Direct Link's non-emergency dispatch?

You can use Direct Link's non-Emergency dispatch services at any time. Simply press the button on your medical alert device and connect with our 24/7 monitoring center.

This is helpful if you or a loved one is not feeling well, gets stuck and need assistance, have flare ups of a medical condition, or if something is making you uneasy and you need someone to talk to.

Our trained call operators can quickly alert the family members, neighbors, or friends in your Care Circle so that you can quickly get the assistance you need in any situation.
